Church plans yard sale fundraiser
FOUR OAKS — Bethel Original Free Will Baptist Church, 3168 N.C. 96 S., will hold a yard sale from 7-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 to benefit its youth fund. Free breakfast will be available while supplies last.
Allen family to hold reunion

School supply giveaway slated
BENSON — Beulah Baptist Church, 3140 N.C. 242 S., will give away backpacks filled with school supplies following a noon hot dog lunch on Sunday, Aug. 11.
School-age children who wish to participate can receive tickets for a backpack by attending Sunday school at 10 a.m. and/or the worship service at 11 a.m. After lunch, all youths who have tickets will receive the backpacks.
Batten family reunion planned

Literacy tutor training scheduled
SMITHFIELD — Triangle South Literacy Works will hold new tutor training from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield, 305 E. Market St.

Vendors sought for craft sale benefit
BENSON — The Benson Center for Active Aging is seeking vendors to participate in an indoor craft and yard sale fundraiser planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.
Vendor spaces are 8 feet by 10 feet. A booth with a table is $25 and space rental for vendors providing their own tables is $20. For more information, call program coordinator Debra Cardone at 919-701-1477.
