JCC plans Black History Month events

SMITHFIELD — Johnston Community College has planned several special events in observance of Black History Month.

The Ol’ Skool Scholarship Sweetheart Dance will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Feb. 9 in the college’s student lounge. Admission cost is a $5 donation toward the JCC Black History annual scholarship.

A business expo is planned in the student lounge from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20.

A free screening of “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” is planned at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22 in the health occupations building lecture hall.
