SMITHFIELD — The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at the courthouse in Smithfield.
Commissioners will hear an update on the coronavirus and could take action on staff recommendations for response to the virus. Also, commissioners are likely to adopt policy that would allow members of various county boards to take part in meetings remotely.
The meeting will convene in the commissioners' meeting room and then move immediately to the old Superior Courtroom to allow for social distancing.
Also, the county will livestream the meeting on its Facebook page.
