Johnston coronavirus cases climb to 9

SMITHFIELD — Johnston County now has nine coronavirus cases, up from four on Monday, County Manager Rick Hester said Wednesday afternoon.

On its coronavirus case map, updated daily, the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services was reporting eight cases on Wednesday. The state number sometimes lags behind individual county reporting.

No other details were immediately available on the five new cases in Johnston.
