I am writing a letter to the editor to ask that the vice chairwoman of the Johnston County school board resign immediately.

For several years on the school board, she has made decisions that many agree have led to a total nosedive for our community. Media outlets are routinely at our county office airing complaints about our school system and lines sprawl down the halls of the county office.

Though the vice chairwoman is registered as Republican, many Republicans do not think that she should be representing Republicans and do not want her behavior and decisions here to reflect upon the Grand Old Party of President Lincoln as a whole. The policies that the vice chairwoman has enacted in not allowing all students to go to their public school of choice are unfair and cruel and hurtful to students and parents.

While her attitude with people is not always refined, it is the proposed comment rules that I find completely unlawful and irresponsible, if not unconstitutional, and certainly distasteful. I am disappointed in her continued representation on the Johnston County school board.
