Sunshine will be hard to come by during the weekend as rain makes its way into our area late Saturday.

Chances of rain go from 30% Saturday afternoon to 70% mid-evening to almost 100% by Sunday. Total precipitation should be at least half an inch.

High temperatures are expected to make a big swing, jumping from a chilly 46 to 48-degree range Saturday to the low- to mid-60s Sunday behind a switch to southerly winds.

A large high-pressure system is forecast to push out the rain beginning late Sunday. As it builds into eastern North Carolina, wind gusts from the northwest could exceed 20 mph by midday Monday. High temperatures Monday and Tuesday will stall around 50 degrees. There is a minimal chance of precipitation Monday or Tuesday.
