High pressure centered across the northeastern United States ridging back to Tennessee is expected to continue to dominate the weather in The Wilson Times' area at least through the weekend.

That means bright sunshine is likely for the Whirligig Festival but with below average temperatures. There's even a risk of frost in parts of the area overnight Saturday and Sunday.
