Johnston reports 16th coronavirus case

SMITHFIELD — Johnston County has 16 coronavirus cases, County Manager Rick Hester said in a text message Tuesday morning.

At 11 a.m. Monday, Johnston had 11 coronavirus cases, up from 10 over the weekend. By 8:30 p.m., the count had climbed to 13.

By 10 a.m. Tuesday, the count was at 16, Hester said.

The county is releasing no details about the cases.

To date, Johnston has reported one death from the virus.
