CLAYTON — A pickup truck backing out of a driveway hit a school bus this morning on North Fayetteville Street, the town reported. The bus, with 30 students, was on its way to Cooper Academy.

Sixteen students have already walked to school with their principal, the town said in a news release at 9:13 this morning. One student complained he hit his head and is being transported for medical care; the remaining students are being evaluated, the town added.

The school district is contacting parents.

Neither the pickup nor school bus suffered damage, the town said.
